 An award-winning American author who lives between Brooklyn, New York and Hawke's Bay. Her first novel, The Rescue of Memory, was successfully published in the United States and in German translation.

Currently a freelance writer and book reviewer for The Listener and The Sunday Star-Times, she contributed Ka Hau e Wha: The Southernmost Jewish Community in the World to Jewish Lives in New Zealand, published by Random House NZ in March 2012.

She is currently completing her second novel, Lost Cities, which has recently been excerpted in The Chicago Tribune's new literary supplement, Printer's Row.
